Hello! I'm Heather.
Artist. Photographer. Explorer. Nature lover. Anti Coal Activist. Bone collector.

I spend my time exploring and studying the Appalachian Mountains. A vast region, often overlooked, but home to some of the most beautiful and lush forests in the world. I am in love with the wilderness, it is my home, my peace, and what keeps me sane. I make my living as an artist, selling jewelry and other creations. I live a very free lifestyle... outside the lines society has drawn for us. THIS is the society that I love and respect.

Well, my Broccoli and Cauliflower are doomed for this year. The same thing happened last year. It’s so hard trying to grow all organic. I don’t know anything that I can use to keep the bugs off my plants, that’s all natural. Anyone know anything that would help?

We’ve had so much rain that my raised beds are flooded, and sitting in a swamp pretty much. So I’m making a little container garden on my back porch this year! :)

Driving around, I saw this garden. I just had to stop and meet the lady, because her garden was huge, and her entire yard was absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately, she wasn’t home. But I couldn’t help to snap a few  photos of her flowers, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind, and probably would be happy that I did. I’m going to go back to try to meet her again, soon as I can. :) I’m sure she’s a cool lady!

My Daddy lives in the middle of the woods, and had a big problem with deer eating his garden. He put in a cool electric fence, powered by a little solar panel. His garden is pretty! I wish I had soil good enough for a garden like this! (:
